Chess
Club
The Chess Club is open to all students in grades
two through five. It takes place in room B16 from Monday to Thursday, 7:15 to 7:45 when
track four is in. All are welcome to play a game or to learn how to play.
Math
Olympiads
As part of the AG math program, fourth and fifth grade students participate in the national problem-solving program, Math Olympiads. On Mondays and Tuesdays we begin our math sessions with a warm-up problem from past Math Olympiads quizzes. During the year we take five national quizzes. At the end of the year certificates, patches, pins or trophies are given to the participants, dependent on the number of correct response to the quizzes. Thanks to the PTA for sponsoring our membership each year!
Odyssey
of the Mind
We sponsored six Odyssey of the Mind (OM) teams in 2003-04. OM is
a competition held annually that is designed to foster creativity and
problem solving among students. We hope to continue our winning tradition.
We really need parent volunteers to coach a team!
