End of Grade Testing

End of Grade tests for Track 1 (grades 3-5) will be given on May 16-18. Your child’s teacher has been working all year to help prepare his/her students. You can help your child be successful on their EOG’s by doing the following:
§ Make sure they get a good night’s sleep.
§ Provide them with a healthy breakfast.
§ Talk with them about any anxieties they may be experiencing.
§ Make sure they arrive at school on time.
§ Don’t schedule any doctor or dentist appointments for the morning of the test.
Smile J and give encouragement!

Don’t Miss Your Chance!

"When their all-too-short years of childhood are over, you will recall with no small satisfaction that you made the effort to get your children a good education. These efforts, which later will seem so small, may emerge as among your most rewarding." (From How to Get Your Child a "Private School" Education in a Public School by Dr. Marty Nemko and Dr. Barbara Nemko, page 209)

What a joy and privilege to have a positive impact on the lives of our own children as well as the lives of their classmates. We can be the catalysts that create positive changes for individual children and for our community. Be encouraged and expectant!

Just say "Yes!" to the Fall Festival! We CAN make it happen, but we have to start planning NOW! YOU can help co-chair this annual tradition! Nominate your organized, detail-oriented friends to co-chair with you! Other 2006-07 PTA leadership opportunities include Track 1 VP, Fundraising VP, Staff Appreciation, Secretary, Media/AR, Directory, and more. Visit http://gyr.wcpss.net/pta/directory.shtml for a complete list of PTA opportunities and the 06-07 volunteers. To learn more and to get involved, contact Shelley Ray (510-9353 or mray@nc.rr.com).
